Despite the challenges the automotive industry has faced recently, General Motors rose above it all to procure nine segment awards in the J.D. Power 2022 study. In fact, Buick claims the top spot in the J.D. Power 2022 U.S. Initial Quality Study (IQS), which surveys customers’ experience during the first 90 days of vehicle ownership.
Now going on 36 years, the IQS surveyed over 84,000 purchasers and lessees of new 2022 model-year vehicles through an extensive questionnaire. The study focuses on vehicle categories like infotainment; features, controls, and displays; driving assistance; driving experience; interior; and exterior. Ultimately, vehicle ratings are calculated based on problems per 100 vehicles (PP100). The lower the score, the higher the vehicle quality.
Not only is Buick the highest-ranked brand in overall initial quality, with a score of 139 PP100, but the brand’s quality actually improved 17 PP100 compared to previous years. The 2022 Buick Encore GX even ranked first in its segment.
While other automakers experience an increase in issues, Buick conquers the challenges and comes out on top in quality. If you would like to upgrade to a new Buick, visit our friendly team at Graue Inc. in Lincoln, Illinois.
